Privacy policy and notice for those assisting 1Lotus Research with Market Research Services
Purpose of the policy
This is a privacy policy for the individuals (participants or respondents in market research terms) who assist 1Lotus Research in market research studies.
Notification:
This notice applies to all current and former respondents who have assisted us in any market research activities. It absolutely does not form part of any contract of employment or other contract to provide services. We may update this notice at any time. Please visit this document to see changes, if any in future.
We are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal information about individuals. We are required under data protection legislation to notify individuals of the information referred to in this privacy notice which we hold and use about individuals.
Personal data in market research:
Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. (For example: a record number that, when cross referenced or linked to another document, can identify that person. It includes any expression of opinion about an individual. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (called anonymous data)).

Usage of personal data:
We will only use individual’s personal information when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use individual’s personal information in the following circumstances: Where we need to perform the contract, we have entered into with individuals (such as for paying individuals honorarium/incentives for participation)
Situations in which we will use individual’s personal information:
The kind of information we hold about individuals) primarily to allow us to perform our contract with individuals and to enable us to comply with legal obligations. In some cases, we may use individual’s personal information to pursue legitimate interests of our own or those of third parties, provided individuals interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests. Please note that we may process individual’s personal information without individual’s knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by local law. Data storage and retention
We will only retain and store individual’s personal information for as long as necessary to
fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal,
accounting, or reporting requirements.
The appropriate retention period depends on the project and the type of information
involved.
In some circumstances we may anonymize individual’s personal information so that it can no
longer be associated with individuals, in which case we may use such information without
further notice to individuals.
We will securely destroy individual’s personal information in accordance with retention
period of the project and the type of information involved.
Right to withdraw consent
In the limited circumstances where individuals may have provided individual’s consent to the
collection, processing and transfer of individual’s personal information for a specific purpose,
individuals have the right to withdraw individual’s consent for that specific processing at any
time.
To withdraw individual’s consent, please contact us. Once we have received notification that
individuals have withdrawn individual’s consent, we will no longer process individual’s
information for the purpose or purposes individuals originally agreed to, unless we have
another legitimate basis for doing so in law.

Changes to this privacy notice
We reserve the right to update this privacy notice at any time, and we will provide individuals with a new privacy notice when we make any substantial updates. We may also notify individuals in other ways from time to time about the processing of individual’s personal information.
